Head to Ballarat to experience an authentic Chinese New Year gold rush celebration at Sovereign Hill on Sunday 5 February & Sunday 12 February 2017. The Chinese Australian Cultural Society Ballarat Inc will provide hands on activities for children, calligraphy, traditional music, dance, Tai Chi lessons and lion dance performances.

Why not combine your Sovereign Hill visit with a trip to the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (M.A.D.E) for the Chinese Fortunes exhibition? A short 10-minute drive from Sovereign Hill, Chinese Fortunes will reveal the forgotten history of Chinese people in Australia since the goldfields. Featuring tales of families, fortune and culture it will be a unique presentation never seen before and translated into both English and Mandarin.
